FRIDAY 23rd September 2011, Ebenezer Church in rural Trinity, Jersey.
Branchage’s commission from Harpist and songwriter Serafina Steer and animator Sam Steer to join forces. Serafina Steer (Stolen Recordings), using the New sound of ‘psychedelic harp’ will create a live soundtrack to “Postman’s Familiar’ a New stop motion animation by Sam Steer, co-written by the brother and sister team in response to Kenneth Anger’s ‘Rabbit’s Moon’ (1950). Branchage and the Steers are very grateful to the PRS ‘Women Make Music’ Scheme for financially encouraging this concert. Anger’s highly original film, features mainly doo-wop pop juxtaposed against surreal, classical mime. In their bizarre and astounding new animation, the Steer brother and sister team have re-interpreted the archetypes of Commedia Dell’Arte once more…
The premiere performance will take place in Jersey as a key headline event of the Branchage Festival, taking place at the 1881 Ebenezer Church in rural Trinity, and will be followed by performances in London later in 2011.
